The annual cultural and religious festival at the historic Sri Bhadrakali Sametha Veerabhadra Swamy Temple in Kuravi (Mahabubabad district, Telangana) is a vibrant spectacle deeply rooted in regional folk traditions. Known primarily as the Maha Shivaratri Brahmotsavam or the Kuravi Jatara, this grand celebration spans 16 days, reaching its peak during the auspicious night of Maha Shivaratri. The festival serves as a cultural bridge, drawing hundreds of thousands of devotees, including massive numbers of local Lambada and other indigenous tribal communities who revere Lord Veerabhadra (locally called Kori Veeranna) as their guardian deity.
