Muharram, locally known as Peerla Panduga, is one of the most significant cultural and religious observances celebrated across Telangana, including Mahabubabad District. The festival commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, at the Battle of Karbala.
